Crushing production lines


Crushing equipment serves as the core component in crushing production lines, categorized into primary, secondary and tertiary crushers according to processing stages. These machines work in coordination with auxiliary equipment like feeders, vibrating screens and conveyor belts to form complete production systems, transforming quarried large rocks into various specifications of construction aggregates and manufactured sand.

Classification by Working Principle

  1. Compression CrushersTypical models include jaw crushers, gyratory crushers and cone crushers, particularly suitable for processing high-abrasion materials like granite and basalt. These machines produce less stone powder but generate more flaky particles (affecting pumping performance). Hydraulic cone crushers adopting laminated crushing principle significantly improve particle shape.
  2. Impact CrushersRepresentative models are impact crushers and vertical shaft impact crushers, featuring large reduction ratios, simple structures and easy maintenance. They produce well-shaped particles with minimal compressive strength loss, ideal for processing medium-soft materials like limestone and calcite.

Typical Production Line Configuration

In large crushing plants:

  • Primary crushing: Mainly uses jaw crushers or gyratory crushers
  • Secondary/tertiary crushing: Commonly employs cone crushers, impact crushers or hammer crushers
  • Sand-making stage: Prefers vertical shaft impact crushers, or combined VSI and rod mill systems

  1. Jaw CrushersPrimary crushing solution with simple/reliable structure, large feed opening and excellent adaptability to various rock hardness.
  2. Gyratory CrushersPrimary crushers with outstanding single-machine capacity, medium/large models support continuous feeding, especially suitable for large-scale aggregate and metal ore projects.
  3. Cone CrushersKey secondary/tertiary crushers with complex structure but superior crushing efficiency, featuring high output and wear-resistant liners. Suitable for both metal ores (iron/gold) and hard rocks (granite/basalt/tuff).
  4. Impact CrushersSecondary crushers (some large models for primary crushing), with simple structure, high reduction ratio and low energy consumption. Produces excellent particle shape but suffers fast wear of blow bars and liners. Best for medium-hard materials like limestone/calcite.
  5. Vertical Shaft Impact CrushersCore sand-making equipment with high efficiency, optimal gradation and controllable powder content. "Rock-on-rock" and "rock-on-iron" modes allow flexible switching between aggregate shaping and specialized sand production.
